O filme retrata o cotidiano de um grupo Yanomami isolado, que vive em um território ao norte do Brasil e ao sul da Venezuela há mais de mil anos. O xamã Davi Kopenawa Yanomami busca proteger as tradições de sua comunidade e contá-las para o homem branco que, segundo ele, nunca os viu, nem os ouviu. Enquanto Kopenawa tenta manter vivos os espíritos da floresta, ele e os demais indígenas lutam para que a lei seja cumprida e os invasores do garimpo retirados do território legalmente demarcado. Mais de 10 mil garimpeiros ilegais, que invadiram o local em 2020, derrubam a floresta, envenenam os rios e espalham COVID-19 e outras doenças entre os indígenas.

The Last Forest
The film portrays the daily life of an isolated Yanomami group, which has lived in a territory in northern Brazil and southern Venezuela for over a thousand years. Shaman Davi Kopenawa Yanomami seeks to protect the traditions of his community and share them with the white man, who, according to him, has neither seen nor heard of them. While Kopenawa tries to keep the spirits of the forest alive, he and the rest of the indigenous people are fighting for the law to be respected and for miners to be removed from their legally-demarcated territory. More than 10,000 illegal gold miners, who invaded the site in 2020, cut down the forest, poison the rivers and spread COVID-19 and other diseases to the indigenous population.
