Ao se apaixonar pela bela e misteriosa Anaíra, Dalberto abandona seu trabalho na polícia e se torna comandante de um barco. O casal passa a viver na casa que Dalberto divide com os dois irmãos, às margens do Rio Negro, mas quando Dalberto é obrigado a se arriscar em uma longa viagem rio acima, desejos proibidos vêm à tona. Enquanto Dalmo, o irmão mais velho, luta para controlar a atração que sente pela cunhada, Anaíra e Armando, o caçula, se aproximam. A volta de Dalberto reúne, sob o mesmo teto, os três irmãos apaixonados pela mesma mulher.

When he falls in love with the beautiful and mysterious Anaíra, Dalberto stops working as a policeman and becomes a sailor. The couple lives in the house which Dalberto shares with his two brothers, by the bank of river Negro. However, when Dalberto is obliged to risk himself on a long trip upriver, forbidden desires start to surface. As Dalmo, the older brother, struggles to control the attraction he feels for his sister-in- law, Anaíra and Armando, the youngest, become closer. The return of Dalberto gathers under the same roof three brothers in love with the same woman
